This season is powered by the people. Following a nationwide call for entries, viewers voted to shape the Top 12 contestants, bringing real support, relatability, and national pride into the competition from day one.
Guided by leading South African chefs Lebogang Tlokana, Moses Moloi, and Keegan Maistry, contestants are challenged to elevate their thinking, refine their skills, and create dishes that are both culturally relevant and commercially viable.

Known as @the_funnychef, Lebogang brings humor and energy to Nyama Battle Season 1. From her cookbook The Funny Chef’s Delicious Dishes to her role as one of South Africa’s favorite food personalities, she’s ready to guide and entertain!
Executive chef at Radisson Red, Chef Keegan Maistry brings fusion cuisine to life with inspiration from his heritage and childhood. “I respect food and my kitchen, adapting to any cuisine with the highest standards.”
